Pecunia - moneta digitale - Satana Digitale Globale - Il Leviatano Digitale Mondiale - ossia l'Inferno

Of Course Mark Zuckerberg Has a Goat Named ‘Bitcoin’

For many of us, Facebook has become a social-media wasteland, littered with conspiracy theories and crock-pot drama. But Mark Zuckerberg is apparently still using the platform like it’s 2004. On Monday, Zuckerberg shared a photo of two goats with a caption simply stating, “My goats: Max and Bitcoin.”
They’re cute goats! But, unfortunately, Bitcoin is a terrible name for a goat. I’m sorry to this goat, but it’s true. Max is fine, if a little boring.
There’s some speculation about the names being a coded message about Zuckerberg’s support of the cryptocurrency, perhaps implying that he’s a “Bitcoin maximalist.” This would be a little odd as Facebook is expected to launch its own cryptocurrency, Diem, later this year. (Diem was originally called Libra, which are both better goat names than Bitcoin.)

I’m guessing Zuckerberg didn’t intend for this post to remind us of that time he killed a goat and fed it to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, but it absolutely did just that. To refresh your memory, here’s what Dorsey said about the goat incident in a 2019 Rolling Stone interview:
“I go, ‘We’re eating the goat you killed?’ [Zuckerberg] said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Have you eaten goat before?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, I love it.’ I’m like, ‘What else are we having?’ ‘Salad.’ I said, ‘Where is the goat?’ ‘It’s in the oven.’ Then we waited for about 30 minutes. He’s like, ‘I think it’s done now.’ We go in the dining room. He puts the goat down. It was cold. That was memorable.”
To add a little more context, in 2011, Zuckerberg apparently made it a “personal challenge” to only eat what he killed, in the spirit of sustainability. It’s not clear whether this is still in practice today. Here’s hoping he just smiles at the goats a lot and doesn’t, you know, eat them.
